Plot Synopsis

When this series debuted as MAKING IT IN AMERICA, host Vinnie Politan featured the struggles and triumphs of people who were trying to carve out their own path to the American dream. By bringing in guests -- some who are just trying to get by in a down economy while others embrace a new entrepreneurial spirit and are taking risks -- Politan highlighted ideas that viewers could use to reinvent themselves. This show continued to focus on small businesses and entrepreneurial success stories through January 2013, but began integrating news for the Jodi Arias murder trial and was covering the trial -- and other legal matters, like the Blade Runner murder -- almost exclusively by the end of February. After Jodi Arias' jury couldn't come to a verdict in the penalty phase in late May 2013, this program turned its attention to other trials, including the George Zimmerman case. After changing its focus, the show also changed its name to NOW IN AMERICA during the month of May.
