Plot Synopsis

This six-part series profiles a close-knit, morbidly obese family of four weighing in at a collective 1,400 pounds. When one family member is diagnosed with a life threatening health issue, they all decide to embark on a self-guided journey of self-improvement and weight loss. No personal trainers. No dietitians. No nutritionists. Just the family's love for each other and their motivation to improve their lifestyles. Each half-hour episode chronicles everything from their everyday struggles -- such as buckling a seatbelt and sitting in a restaurant booth -- to the larger picture of why they overeat. Meet the Coles family: Norris, 41 and 340 lbs., is a stay-at-home Dad who cooks, cleans and loves taking care of his wife and kids; His wife, Tameka, 36 and 380 lbs., supports the family and is both the disciplinarian and the comedian in the house; Amber, 16 and 348 lbs., is a senior in high school, who loves to write and is about to start dating; Shayne, 14 and 308 lbs., is a sophomore in high school, who is always the life of the party.
