Plot Synopsis

Top TV chef David Adjey knows the restaurant business inside out, and he is determined to give amateur restaurateurs a fighting chance at success -- for opening night and beyond. With their life savings on the line and often very naive expectations, David uses unorthodox teaching techniques to identify problems and devise a plan to help these culinary newbies: a pair of former university friends looking for their next great adventure; an ex-nightclub promoter eager to transfer his skills into the restaurant business; an owner who has hired a strict vegetarian as his head chef; and many more amateur restaurateurs.

On Monday, January 3, 2011 at 10pm ET/PT, TLC presented the U.S. premiere of this series, but the cable channel aired only two episodes before ending its run following the broadcast on January 10. More than three years later, this series returned to U.S. TV when the Biography Channel began showing it -- with a new title, LAUNCH MY RESTAURANT -- on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT.
