Plot Synopsis

Pete Bethune and his elite team of Earthrace Conservation operatives travel the world bringing poachers and environmental criminals to justice. Using high tech equipment -- flying surveillance drones, powered parachutes, underwater scooters and amphibious assault vehicles -- these highly trained former military commandos capture eco-criminals and expose ecological atrocities. In each 60-minute episode of THE OPERATIVES, the team gathers video evidence against those who harm endangered wildlife. From shark-infested waters to jungle airstrips and illegal diamond mines, they risk imprisonment, injury or worse in order to take down those who poison rivers, raid turtle hatcheries and club baby seals. Bethune's team in Season 1 consists of some of the world's best soldiers, including: Rick, a former SEAL Team 6 member who struggles through the missions with physical ailments; Bryce, a former member of the 75th Ranger Regiment who has never met anything he can't fix; Charissa, the only woman on the team and a former air force UAV pilot who has made a career flying military drones over Iraq and Afghanistan; Jack, a former paratrooper in the New Zealand Air Force, who has worked as a mercenary in Iraq and Afghanistan, mostly alongside US forces and Security Firms; Matt, the only one out of the group without Special Forces training, who stands out for his brawn and willingness to get any job done; and Rich, a former member of the US Army Special Operations Command, who is the mission control of the team, responsible for all planning and execution. Season 2 of THE OPERATIVES premiered on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Pivot. With ten, all new, hour-long episodes, Bethune and his hand-picked team of military elite travel to the furthest parts of the world to expose those suspected of endangering our wildlife and environment in an effort to bring them to justice. After last season's successful campaigns in Africa and Central America, THE OPERATIVES heads to Asia with a brand new team including: Matt, who is the team's only returning member; Phillip Wynkoop, a former United States Navy SEAL, who has a wealth of experience in Covert Surveillance and Intelligence Gathering; Tim Pirruccello, a former U.S. Reconnaissance Marine, who is the youngest member of the team; Stephane Rousseau, a former French SAS member, whose experience and leadership help the team tremendously when planning and executing missions across air, land and sea; and the team's first biologist, Nicola Gunary, who is an expert in conservation biology and skilled in open water diving and field work. The crew embarks on even bolder missions to tackle human-tiger conflicts, rhino poaching, suspected illegal animal trading, cyanide and dynamite fishing, dolphin captivity and much more. Pete and his team will survey guarded warehouses full of exotic animals, track potentially armed poachers through dense rainforests, brush up against an Asian syndicate, and use cutting-edge technology to locate alleged illegal fishermen endangering wildlife in the Coral Triangle.
