Plot Synopsis

OPPOSITE WORLDS is a one-hour competition reality series that pits two teams against each other, as the contestants try to avoid elimination while living in a house with a glass wall that separates them into two groups that live in distinctly different environments -- one side in the past and the other in a utopic future -- each with its own unique advantages and disadvantages. The 12 people from all walks of life are first separated into two groups: future and past. Then, as teams compete in a series of fast-paced challenges, viewers participate in real time on social media and affect the outcome by selecting which player should be The Decider, the contestant with the power to select two combatants for that week's Duel of Destiny. In the Duel of Destiny, the two selected players face off in a duel, with the losing contestant being sent home. Airing twice weekly, OPPOSITE WORLDS runs 12 episodes over six weeks (two episodes per week), with the second weekly episode featuring a live element, which is a first for a Syfy reality series. The contestants are: Jeffry Calle, a 25-year-old non-profit coordinator, who is originally from Suffern, NY, and is currently residing in Fontana, CA; J.R. Cook, a 28-year-old attorney, who is originally from Pineville, WV, and is currently residing in Knoxville, TN; Samm Murphy, a 28-year-old medical-supplies distributor, who is originally from Jacksonville, FL, and is currently residing in Marina Del Rey, CA; Charles Haskins, a 39-year-old youth boxing coach, who is originally from New York City and is currently residing in Orlando, FL; Rachel Horton, a 27-year-old professional gamer, who is from Sherman Oaks, CA, and is currently residing in Encino, CA; Angela Lima, a 34-year-old vice president at a vegan food company, who is originally from Minneapolis, MN, and is currently residing in Marina Del Rey, CA; Danielle Pascente, a 25-year-old sports model, who is originally from Phoenix, AZ, and is currently residing in Santa Monica, CA; Lisette Resille, a 32-year-old nurse, who is originally from Tuscon, AZ, and is currently residing in Sherman Oaks, CA; Frank Sansonetti, a 35-year-old firefighter, who is from and currently residing in Staten Island, NY; Lauren Schwab, a 27-year-old Fulcrum Adventures instructor, whoh is originally from Valley Center, KS, and is currently residing in Marina Del Rey, CA; Wyatt Werneth, a 47-year-old diving specialist, who is from and currently residing in Cocoa Beach, FL; and Jesse Wilson, a 34-year-old model and photographer, who is originally from Knights Ferry, CA, and is currently residing in Los Angeles, CA.
