Plot Synopsis

ORANGUTAN JUNGLE SCHOOL is a 10-episode documentary series that follows dedicated caretakers at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue & Rehabilitation Center, where scores of orphaned orangutans learn the skills they need to survive in the wild. These workers teach their exceptional students how to play, eat, and socialize, with the hope that they can one day return to the wild. ORANGUTAN JUNGLE SCHOOL, sometimes shown as a three-episode special, had its U.S. premiere on Friday, August 2, 2019 when it debuted on Smithsonian Channel Plus. Nine days later -- on Sunday, August 11 at 8am -- the series had its linear television premiered in the United States.
