Plot Synopsis

Directed and produced by filmmaker Pat Kondelis, OUTCRY is a five-part investigative documentary series that examines the story of high school football star Greg Kelley's controversial conviction for child molestation and the quest for truth and justice that followed in the wake of his sentencing. Greg Kelley had incredible momentum going into his senior year of high school in Leander, Texas, but that came to a sudden halt in the summer of 2013 when he was arrested and later convicted of super aggravated sexual assault of a four-year-old boy. After he was sentenced to 25 years in state prison without the possibility of parole, a groundswell of support emerged, calling into question the investigation, the prosecution's tactics and, ultimately, the validity of the conviction. OUTCRY captures a divided community over a seven-year journey, following the principal participants of the appeal process as they work in pursuit of justice. OUTCRY premiered on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on Showtime. New episodes debut every Sunday through August 2, while the entire series released for on-demand streaming or download on the Showtime and Showtime Anytime apps and partner on-demand platforms July 5.

Showtime premiered the finale of OUTCRY on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT. Greg has been in legal limbo for nearly two years, waiting for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to decide on his case. Private emails obtained by Greg's lawyer provide further evidence that highly unusual alliances are being formed behind the scenes to deny Greg of his innocence. The possible alternate suspect in Greg's case is convicted of a serious crime, raising more questions about the viability of Greg's guilt. A decision is finally handed down by the courts, and Greg's fate is determined.
