Plot Synopsis

OUTDAUGHTERED is a one-hour reality series that follows Danielle and Adam Busby -- and their adorable 4-year-old daughter Blayke -- as they adjust to their new life, while trying to hold on to the identities and lives they had cultivated before welcoming America's first all-female set of quintlets: Ava, Hazel, Olivia, Parker and Riley. Following the hilarious and heartwarming antics of the entire family including Danielle's zany mother, Michelle, and her older twin sisters and their families, it's all hands on deck as the family relies on their tight-knit circle to make the most out of this incredible lifetime adventure. This series chronicles their journey of infertility and the celebration that followed when they learned they were having quints. From preparing for the birth to the three long months in the NICU, the series focuses on the babies' delivery and then the first few months at home after their world is turned upside down. Now, Adam and Danielle adjust to their new life and soon realize that a new home is a much needed next step. House hunting is difficult, though, when you are working against a tight budget. Viewers also get a peek into the first family photo shoot with the quints, and even though grandmother Michelle comes around to help, her tardiness sends the family into chaos. When Adam returns to work, one of the babies gets sick, and Danielle realizes how different life at home with the quints is without her partner in crime. Thankfully, her two sisters, Ashley and Crystal, are around to pitch in and keep Danielle sane as the family relies on each other to navigate this chaotic journey.

OUTDAUGHTERED returned for its second season on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 9-11pm ET/PT on TLC, with a special two-hour season opener. This season, the quints are walking, crawling, climbing, and in general giving Adam and Danielle a run for their money. There's never a dull moment for them -- everything from mealtime and bath time, to trips to the grocery and family outings has become more of a challenge. As if little everyday tasks aren't enough for the Busbys, they are faced with making hard decisions, especially when it comes to Hazel who was recently diagnosed with an eye condition. Also, Danielle's mother has some news that turns the stress up for the family. Although things can be tough at times, there is still plenty to be excited about - Danielle and Adam celebrate their 10-year anniversary, Blayke starts an exciting adventure in kindergarten and they plan their first big family vacation. With so many things to look forward to, life being OUTDAUGHTERED is just getting sweeter. In the two-hour season opener, "Catching Up with the Quints," viewers catch up all on the exciting milestones the family hit between season one and now. It becomes clear that the Busby way of life has certainly changed since the newborns became toddlers. It is also evident that Hazel is still behind her sisters in many ways. She is the only one not walking, and her eye condition has become more prominent. After a visit to the eye specialist, Adam and Danielle have a big decision on their hands. Thankfully, both of Danielle's sisters now live within walking distance to their new house, which makes for a great support system. Later in the episode, the whole family gathers for a birthday party, but Danielle notices her mom is not her normal self. When she confronts her to find out what's wrong, Danielle learns that her mom lost her job and some big changes are coming.

The 10-episode third season of OUTDAUGHTERED premiered on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, immediately following a two-hour season preview special (7-9pm). Season 2 follows the Busby family as the girls flourish -- Blayke off to school and the quints quickly becoming toddlers; walking, talking, and exhibiting their independence. With "Mimi" moving out, caring for the girls is a hectic full-time job for Danielle and she wishes Adam was around to help more often. To add to the couple's stress level, they learn Hazel may require a second eye surgery. Adam starts to realize that he hasn't been himself since the babies were born and knows he needs to start to seek out answers. All the while, Adam and Danielle work on figuring out how to make sure that they nurture their relationship.

Season 4 of OUTDAUGHTERED premiered on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 8-10pm ET/PT on TLC. This season, Danielle and Adam Busby realize the only thing more challenging than raising five babies is keeping up with five rapidly growing toddlers! As the quints race out of their "terrible twos" and into the dreaded "three-nagers" phase, gone are the days when Olivia, Parker, Riley, Ava and Hazel could be contained in strollers, playpens and cribs. The Busby babies now have five strong and different personalities, and they're guaranteed to make their opinions known since the quints are now talking up a storm! Every day brings new experiences for the family, from walking the runway in a fashion show to taking a big family vacation to Hawaii! It's not all fun and games, though, as Adam and Danielle manage the stress of six kids, running the cycle studio and unexpected setbacks including Hurricane Harvey and the threat of another surgery for Hazel. Through it all, the Busby family must face life with non-stop mayhem and merriment, and with six times the laughter, love, trials and tears. In the two-hour season opener, "The Quints Have Taken Over!," when Hurricane Harvey hits, one family member suffers a devastating loss. Danielle and Adam are split on what to do about Olivia escaping from her crib. Later, it's time for the simple pleasures of Halloween but Danielle may have to work through the fun.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT, OUTDAUGHTERED returned for its fifth season with the Busby family tackling all new growing pains. In the blink of an eye, Adam and Danielle Busby have watched their daughters Ava, Olivia, Riley, Parker and Hazel go from tiny, delicate newborns to full blown "three-nagers." These five little ladies are smarter, sassier and more stubborn than ever. Fortunately for Adam and Danielle, big sister Blayke is always there to help her parents keep everything in line. Whether it's navigating the holidays or hitting the high seas on a cruise, the Busbys brave it all together with love, laughter and a whole lot of patience. However, as cute as this family is, it's never all fun and games; from Danielle's mysterious migraines, to Parker's anxiety manifesting new issues and the ever-looming possibility of another eye surgery for Hazel, there is a lot the Busbys are navigating this coming season. Additionally, after Adam decided to quit his job and pursue a self-managed, work-from-home career last season, he must now figure out how to kick-start his media marketing company while contending with the quint chaos around him. In an unexpected twist, however, he gets a job offer he can't refuse, and he and Danielle are on opposite sides on how to proceed. If that wasn't enough to contend with, Adam and Danielle's worst fears come to fruition when bad news disrupts their home life and puts the entire family at risk, ultimately uprooting the Busbys from their home.

Season 6 of OUTDAUGHTERED premiered on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 8-10pm ET/PT on TLC. Adam and Danielle Busby thought their "three-nagers" were a handful, until they were hit with a storm of "four-nadoes." In a special, two-hour premiere, viewers will follow along as America's first all-female quintuplets celebrate their fourth birthday and big sister Blayke turns eight! From nighttime potty training and no more naps, to Hazel's looming eye surgery and the uncertainty surrounding their living situation, there is never a dull moment for the Busby family. Throughout the season, the Busbys continue to prove that adventure has no limits, whether it's rounding up their cowgirls for a trip to the dude ranch or embracing their tropical side for a luau-themed birthday party. Meanwhile, Adam's work trips to Dallas cause tension at home as Danielle must keep the craziness in check while she starts a business venture of her own. Adding to their stress, Adam and Danielle must make a difficult decision that could impact the rest their young daughters' lives, when Riley is presented with the option to skip ahead to kindergarten before the rest of her sisters.

The seventh season of OUTDAUGHTERED premiered on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC, immediately following a one-hour special (8pm) that takes a sneak peek at the new season. With five almost five-year-olds and one precious preteen, life has always been hectic for the Busby family. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic began to affect life in Houston, the Busbys already had their plates full with new school schedules, approaching milestones and family trips to plan. The new season begins with the girls' Father-Daughter Dance on the horizon, and Adam is determined to bring all six girls. But when he and Danielle worry that it might be too much for him to handle on his own, he has to break the bad news to the girls. Plus, with Riley moving ahead to kindergarten, the Busbys' routine continues to grow more complicated. Making life 'normal' has never been easy for this family of eight; how will the Busbys handle this new chapter of life as each girl develops at her own pace? Deciding to take a special family vacation to Wyoming, Blayke and quintuplets Ava, Olivia, Riley, Parker and Hazel are excited to see snow for the very first time and learn to ski. But when they return from their trip, the world comes to an abrupt halt with the fallout of the novel coronavirus. Quarantining with quints is a challenge that no parent can ever be fully prepared for. Plans for birthdays, Easter holiday and a potential eye procedure for Hazel begin to unravel as the family adjusts to the pandemic, shifts to homeschooling Blayke and the quints while trying to make the best decisions for the family's health and safety. As Texas ramps up its safety measures with a stay-at-home order, the final episode of the season takes place using completely self-shot footage of the Busby family while the reality of quarantine and social distancing sets in.

Season 8 of OUTDAUGHTERED debuted on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 8-10pm ET/PT on TLC. Viewers pick up with the Busby family and America's first all-female quintuplets months after the family, and the country, went into quarantine. Now, the family is emerging with five-year-old Ava, Olivia, Parker, Hazel and Riley and their nine-year-old big sister Blayke to a new normal with plenty of new experiences in store, including a crash course in riding bikes, taking an RV trip to the wilderness and the quints starting kindergarten. There will also be celebrations galore, whether it's a homemade, backyard haunted maze for Halloween or a socially distant visit with Santa. The Busbys always find ways to make things special for their girls, no matter the circumstances; however, an unknown and painful health issue that's been haunting Super Mom Danielle for years has become unbearable, and her search for answers could lead her down a scary path. In the two-hour season opener, "Escape from Quarantine," local quarantine restrictions are lifted, and the Busbys are ready to salvage the rest of their summer! Things take a turn for the worse when they discover a huge issue lurking in the kitchen walls. Parker faces an old fear, and Dale surprises the family.

Season 9 of OUTDAUGHTERED premiered on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC. Adam, Danielle, older sister Blayke and all-girl quintuplets Olivia, Hazel, Riley, Parker and Ava will be sharing more of their heartwarming family moments this summer. From camping in the wild to striking poses on the catwalk, mechanical bull rides to a 'Yes Day' while mom is away, life with the Busby family is full of sweet chaos and big adventures! After celebrating their 8th birthday, Olivia, Hazel, Riley, Parker and Ava show no signs of slowing down. They are growing fast, losing teeth left and right and dialing up their own unique and spirited personalities. At their first dance recital, Parker shines while Ava struggles with stage fright. Hazel's eye condition, nystagmus, finally seems to be under control yet she has a tough time learning to ride her new bike, and Adam and Danielle can't determine whether eyesight or self-confidence is the issue. Rowdy Riley pioneers her own path with interests in athletics and Monster Trucks, and Olivia suddenly gets cold feet on the eve of the long-awaited Daddy-Daughter-Daughter-Daughter-Daughter-Daughter dance. Now in middle school, big sister Blayke has blossomed into a confident 12-year-old, who wants to throw a Friendsgiving party by herself! Danielle supports her and tries to let her handle the event on her own. Meanwhile, Danielle's attention is also focused on a new brick-and-mortar storefront she opened for their family business, Graeson Bee Boutique. But giving up control of the household duties to Adam may be easier said than done -- and the couple struggles to get on the same page.
