Plot Synopsis

Notable gang mediator Malik Spellman oversees tense moments of mediation between rival gangs in South Central Los Angeles as he works to coordinate truces and keep kids safe, out of trouble, and free from violence. By day, Spellman is a violence prevention counselor; at night, he brings peace to the troubled neighborhoods he's lived in for 30 years. For the last two decades, he has dedicated his life to reducing gang violence by teaching life skills to middle school students in the classroom and walking the streets of South Central L.A. to mediate truces between adversaries and calm tensions after gunplay.
