Plot Synopsis

PLANE XTREME is a reality series that follows Steve Hall, owner of Wing of Eagles (WOE) International Aircraft Delivery, who has been delivering planes around the world for more than four decades, moving more than 5000 aircrafts to extreme destinations in the North Atlantic, Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and beyond. In this series, WOE delivers a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza plane from Iowa to Namibia through the Gulf of Guinea carwash, but the first pilot turns back after hitting bad weather and wrestling with the memory of his co-pilot who had died seven years earlier flying the same route. When a second ferry pilot takes the controls, he rides a jet stream to cross the Atlantic in record time, but a refueling stop on an island takes hours longer than it should. Next, a crew is sent to the island of Curacao to pick up a pair of Cessna Caravans, where two pilots identify over 300 squawks and deem the plane as not being airworthy. Then, Steve sends a pilot to pick up a Cessna 172 and deliver it to a flight school in Santiago, Chile, which requires a massive auxiliary fuel tank to extend the plane's range, while still needing stops in San Salvador, El Savador and then Guayaquil, Ecuador. Plus, Steve puts together two ferry pilots to deliver a pair of Cessna Caravans to two different customers in Nairobi, Kenya, which is a trip filled with computer and communication problems as well as lightning, high winds, and ice. Steve's crew includes: Captain Adam Domino, who has been flying planes for 26 years, with Wings of Eagles since 1998, when he became the company's senior captain; Dala Martin, the company's bookkeeper, who keeps track of costs for hundreds of flights and pilots each year and has a Smith & Wesson 380 always within reach; Captain David Doble, who earned a BS in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and took up ferry flying after piloting a 50 seat Regional Jet for Atlantic Coast Airlines (United Express); Jenny Nolan, Steve Hall's right-hand lady and secretary, who handles the paperwork for customs and flight clearances; Captain Robert Michael 'Mike' Tidwell, who has flown for Wings of Eagles for seven years, having delivered over 100 planes to countries like Iceland, Ecuador, South Africa, and Switzerland; and others, like Stuart Mills and Aidan Loehr, who Steve hires as ferry pilots.
