Plot Synopsis

Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, this six-part documentary series explores the wildlife found in the world's coldest regions: the Arctic and Antarctic, high mountains, frozen deserts, snowbound forests, and ice-cold oceans. From polar bears to penguins, and from snow monkeys to Siberian tigers, each species must overcome a unique set of challenges to endure its extreme environment. After airing with the title, FROZEN PLANET II, in the UK in September and October 2022, PLANET EARTH: FROZEN PLANET II made its U.S. debut on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on BBC America. Episodes include:

"Frozen Worlds" (U.S. premiere on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 8pm): Journey through remote lands to discover the incredible ways that animals have overcome the challenges of subzero survival. The series begins by travelling from pole to pole revealing the frozen worlds that exist across the world and the animals that live in them. Antarctica, the Himalaya, the Great Steppe, boreal forest, tundra and the Arctic are visited.

"Frozen Oceans" (U.S. premiere on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 8pm): Dive into a world of water and ice to visit creatures thriving in and under the Arctic Sea. This episode looks at the Arctic Ocean, as after 4 months of winter darkness the sun returns. Mother polar bears emerge from their dens, a pod of beluga whales confined to an ice hole wait for release, harp seal mothers teach their pups.

"Frozen Peaks" (U.S. premiere on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 8pm): Explore ice worlds born of altitude. Mountaintops pose a range of chilly hardships for animals living on them.

"Frozen South" (U.S. premiere on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 8pm): Frozen world of all -- Antarctica. At first glance it may appear lifeless, but miraculously, life finds a way.

"Frozen Lands" (U.S. premiere on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 8pm): Enter the largest land-habitat on Earth, home to great Boreal forests and the barren tundra where the seasons bring both challenges and opportunities.

"Our Frozen Planet" (U.S. premiere on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 8pm): These frozen worlds have reached a tipping point -- their future hangs in the balance and with it, so does ours.

"The Making of Frozen Planet II" (U.S. premiere on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 9:30pm): This episode goes behind the scenes with the production team, revealing the astounding challenges they encountered in sometime dangerous conditions while on location.
