Plot Synopsis

PORTALS TO HELL is a docuseries that follows executive producer Jack Osbourne and paranormal researcher/investigator Katrina Weidman, as they travel to haunted locations purported to be doorways to the spirit underworld. They investigate each haunted location in search of irrefutable evidence that a spirit world exists, and death is not the end. In each episode, Osbourne and Weidman dive headfirst into a different historical site, examining unusual incidents while utilizing specialized technology and a network of experts to search for irrefutable evidence that a spirit world exists, and death is not the end. Their journey takes them to the infamous LaLaurie Mansion in New Orleans, Bobby Mackey's Music World in Kentucky, Eastern State Penitentiary in Pennsylvania, the Alaskan Hotel in Juneau, Ohio's Twin City Opera House, Strawberry River Bed and Breakfast on the outskirts of Utah's Skinwalker Ranch, Pennsylvania's Emerald Hill Estate, the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia, and many more historical sites. In the series opener, "The Alaskan Hotel," Jack and Katrina travel all the way to Juneau, Alaska, to conduct the first-ever investigation of the Alaskan Hotel. Built for luxury, the historic hotel has developed a reputation for demonic activity due to its notorious criminal past.

Travel Channel premiered the second season of PORTALS TO HELL on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 9-11pm ET/PT, kicking off Season 2 with a two-hour episode. Eight additional hour-long episodes move to their regular 10p timeslot beginning Friday, March 20. In Season 2, Katrina and Jack face their most fearsome cases yet, as they uncover disturbing tales from bygone pasts and unnerving paranormal activity. Osbourne and Weidman filter through extensive research, utilize advanced scientific equipment and enlist a network of specialists, including psychic mediums, to try and exhume answers behind these terrifying hauntings. Locations include: The Old Paulding Jail (season premiere); Fort William Henry (Lake George, New York), the site of one of the bloodiest massacres in Colonial America; Croke-Patterson Mansion (Denver, Colorado), a 130-year-old building plagued with paranormal activity since its creation; Ohio State Reformatory (Mansfield, Ohio), a deadly prison also known for its role in The Shawshank Redemption; Thomas House Hotel (Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee), a once-thriving natural springs resort where guests fell victim to deadly waters; Iron Island Museum (Buffalo, New York), a century-old building that is rumored to house not one, but two, portals; Haunted Hill House (Mineral Wells, Texas), a hellish location plagued by rumors of demonic activity; Shanghai Tunnels (Portland, Oregon), a network of underground tunnels notorious for its role in slavery and kidnapping victims; and more. "Katrina and I are breaking down walls -- literally," said Osbourne. "We have unprecedented access to a number of locations and are also the first team to ever investigate some of them for TV. They're incredibly active sites for the paranormal, and we're going all in to try and capture substantial evidence." In the two-hour season opener, "The Old Paulding Jail," Jack and Katrina head to Paulding, Ohio, to investigate the Old Paulding Jail - an almost 150-year-old site rumored to be haunted by the spirits of former inmates, sheriffs and even the victim of a horrific, 60-year-old cold case crime. The pair find it hard to uncover the truth in a sea of rumors, cover-ups and theories of what happened to the young woman who was murdered. They call in a trusted psychic in their search for answers. Determined to find out more, Osbourne and Weidman break down the last remaining sealed jail cell in the basement ... and are shocked to discover large bone fragments scattered within. Now, the possibility of not only contacting spirits, but also solving a town's most infamous murder is on the line. As the investigation deepens, Osbourne has a paranormal experience that will forever change him as an investigator and truth seeker. PORTALS OF HELL returned with new episodes on Saturday, March 20, 2021, as discovery+ released two additional Season 2 episodes.

The 13-episode third season of PORTALS OF HELL premiered on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on Travel Channel. There's hell to pay, and Jack Osbourne and Katrina Weidman continue their mission to find out why. The deeper the history the deeper the haunting. Exploring the shadowy corners of Detroit's Eloise Psychiatric Hospital, the historic Savannah Theatre, Staten Island, New York's Kreischer Mansion, Philadelphia's Fort Mifflin and the infamous Missouri State Penitentiary, among others, Osbourne and Weidman confront disturbing activity and malevolent entities that have left those that crossed their path shaking in fear. Using their paranormal expertise, advanced scientific equipment and a network of specialists, including a team of psychic mediums, the duo search for evidence and answers as to who, or what, is wreaking such havoc on the living. In the season opener, "Hill View Manor," Osbourne and Weidman travel to New Castle, Pennsylvania, home to Hill View Manor -- a shuttered nursing home where former patients are rumored to live on after death. The sprawling complex has almost as many spirits as it does rooms. Constant reports of scratching, chronic dizziness and shadow apparitions have turned the building's new owner, Carrie, from a paranormal skeptic into a full-blown believer. With her original plans to turn the property into condos no longer viable, she is hoping Osbourne and Weidman can figure out what exactly is going on within Hill View's walls. But to get to the bottom of what's feeding the manor's dark forces, the duo will first have to face the Creeper - a malevolent shadow creature bent on scaring the living hell out of its victims.
