Plot Synopsis

BEYOND BELIEF is a five-part investigation into supernatural, paranormal and just plain unexplained phenomena. Each 60-minute episode focuses on a different extra-sensory, spiritual experience: "Twin-tuition," in which Juju Chang examines the special psychic bond that twins share, allowing them to read each other's thoughts and feel each other's emotions and physical sensations; "The Miracle Mysteries," during which Bill Weir travels to pilgrimage sites in Nazareth, Rwanda, Spain, and Bosnia, where people believe the Virgin Mary has appeared at each to communicate with the faithful; "The Battle With the Devil," in which Terry Moran explores the belief that demonic possession can cause a person to perform acts of evil; "Psychic Power," in which Juju Chang delves into the world of the 21st century psychic and features a medium to the stars; and "The Other Side," in which journalist Bob Woodruff unlocks the mysteries of his own near death experience while speaking with others who've reported similar out-of-body sensations. BEYOND BELIEF was originally scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10pm ET, but was delayed by one week so NIGHTLINE could present a one-hour primetime special about the Casey Anthony murder trial instead.
