Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Graham Norton, QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE brings drag queens from across the globe to battle it out in a singing competition. To see who reigns supreme, the Queens take center stage in an over-the-top live singing competition, as they try to impress the panel of judges: Vanessa Williams, Michelle Visage, Trixie Mattel, and Leona Lewis. For its inaugural season, the series brings together 14 of the world's fiercest queens, as they vie for the title of "Queen of the Universe" and a cash prize of $250,000. QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE made its linear television debut on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on VH1. The 14 queens in Season 1 include: Ada Voc (San Antonio, Texas, USA); Aria B Cassadine (Atlanta, GA, USA); Betty Bitschlap (Copenhagen, Denmark); Chy'enne Valentino (Chicago, IL, USA); Gingzilla (Sydney, Australia); Grag Queen (Canela, Brazil); Jujubee (Boston, MA, USA); La Voix (London, England); Leona Winter (Paris, France); Matante Alex (Montreal, Canada); Novaczar (New York City, NY, USA); Rani Ko-he-nur (Mumbai, India); Regina Voce (Mexico City, Mexico); and WooWu (Guangzhou, China).

The sophomore season of QUEENS OF THE UNIVERSE premiered with two new episodes on Friday, June 2, 2023 on Paramount+ and Season 2 made its linear TV debut later that same day with the first episode at 8pm ET/PT on MTV. Hosted by Graham Norton, Season 2 welcomes new judge Mel B, who joins returning judges Michelle Visage, Vanessa Williams, and Trixie Mattel. Season 2 cast includes Aura Eternal (Palermo, Italy), Chloe V (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Jazell Royale (Orlando, Fla., U.S.), Love Masisi (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Maxie (Manila, Philippines), Militia Scunt (San Francisco, Calif., U.S.), Miss Sistrata (Tel Aviv, Israel), Taiga Brava (Cancun, Mexico), Trevor Ashley (Sydney, Australia) and Viola (Coventry, England, U.K.). In the season opener, "Bigger Hits, Glossier Lips, and Massive T**s," 10 new queens from around the globe hit the stage and must perform their personal drag anthem while showcasing a look dedicated to their homeland. Then, in "A Spicy Twist," the queens react to Mel's "Scary News" the contestants continue to perform their personal drag anthem while rocking a look inspired by their country. But when the judges announce a "Spicy Twist," who will rise to the top and who will be eliminated?
On Friday, June 23, 2023, Paramount+ released the final four episodes of Season 2. The queens are pushed out of their comfort zones when they are asked not only deliver out of this world vocals but sickening dance breaks that are good enough to impress both the Pop Diva Panel and the drag loving studio audience. Then, the queens must bare all and give stripped down performances and a look that incorporates nude illusion; the fate of one contestant hangs in the balance as a medical emergency threatens to derail their placement in the competition. Next, the semi-finals find the top four queens paired with one member of the Pop Diva Panel to help guide and mentor them before their next performance. Finally, the grand finale has arrived as the top three queens must perform their personal queer anthem as well as a showstopper number. Who will come out on top to be crowned "Queen of the Universe" and win the life-changing cash prize of $250,000?
