Plot Synopsis

QUIRKY is a reality series that follows 24-year-old visionary Ben Kaufman and his group of design and engineering experts at Quirky.com, a unique technology company that develops and fabricates product ideas with guidance from its online community. Everybody who contributes also shares in the profits: the original inventor, plus any online members who have contributed along the way to help create the final product. In each one-hour episode, Ben and his team develop two ideas from the thousands that are submitted, while following the inspiring stories of twelve people from across the country who enjoy the adventure of invention. These ideators include: a mother of two with her clever all-in-one pasta strainer; a former paralegal in Pennsylvania and her two-tiered BBQ tray designed to holding everything for the BBQ with one trip to the grill; a copywriter and father in Kansas City who added a twist to the ordinary can opener with "Can Do." Plus, the series highlights prolific Quirky.com inventors, such as a former high school principal from The Bronx who created the bracelet wallet, and a college student from Milwaukee, who needed a flexible power strip to accommodate all of the plugs to his gadgets.
