Plot Synopsis

Narrated by Executive Producer Kevin Spacey, RACE TO THE WHITE HOUSE is a six-part documentary series that uses rare archival footage, interviews and re-creations to tell the stories of iconic campaigns for the Presidency of the United States. From powerful speeches to the dirty tricks and Machiavellian schemes, this series captures the drama of a high-stakes presidential election and its impact on politics today. Each one-hour episode highlights a different election, including: Jackson vs. Adams; Lincoln vs. Douglas; Truman vs. Dewey; Kennedy vs. Nixon; Bush vs. Dukakis; and Clinton vs. Bush. In addition to Spacey, HOUSE OF CARDS' Dana Brunetti is also an executive producer.
On Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT, CNN premiered the season finale of RACE FOR THE WHITE HOUSE. In the season ender, "Bill Clinton vs. George H.W. Bush," Democratic Governor of Arkansas Bill Clinton looks to unseat Republican President George H. W. Bush and defeat independent politician Ross Perot in the election of 1992.
