Plot Synopsis

RAISING ASIA is a half-hour reality series that follows eight-year-old entertainer Asia Monet Ray and her family, as they support her on the road to fame and success. Before ever appearing on DANCE MOMS and placing third on Season 1 of ABBY'S ULTIMATE DANCE COMPETITION, Asia was already a YouTube sensation and had traveled the world to showcase her singing and dancing talents. Now, in RAISING ASIA, cameras follow the rising star as she strives to take her career to the next level with the help of: her model mother, Kristie; her famous record-holding bodybuilder father, Shawn; her younger sister, Bella Blu; her Auntie G; her choreographer, Anthony Burrell; and her manager, Billy Hufsey. The series opens with a huge performance at World of Dance on the line, where questions about the suitability of the choreography put the entire performance in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Asia's parents struggle with their own balancing act.
On Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 10-11pm ET/PT, Lifetime aired the two-episode season finale of RAISING ASIA. In the night's first episode, "Of Momagers and Meltdowns," Asia is set to sing her new ballad on the web series, BiteSizeTV, with her Universal City Walk performance only one week away. As the pressure mounts, she loses focus and spins out of control just before show time. Then, at 10:30pm in the season finale, "Make It or Break It," it's time for Asia to take the stage at Universal City Walk for the biggest and most important performance of her life. Asia tries to remain calm while chaos reigns during the final performance run-through.
