Plot Synopsis

RAPUNZEL'S TANGLED ADVENTURES, known as TANGLED: THE SERIES during its first season, is a half-hour animated series set between the stories told in Walt Disney Animation Studios' acclaimed film TANGLED and its short film TANGLED EVER AFTER. This visually vibrant animated adventure/comedy series unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity lead her to realize that there is so much more she needs to learn about the world and herself before she can assume her role as Princess of Corona. Much to the dismay of the king, she boldly postpones her duty as princess to seek out adventure.

On Friday, March 10, 2017, the series kicked off with the Disney Channel Original Movie TANGLED BEFORE EVER AFTER, which follows Rapunzel as she struggles with both the new responsibilities of being princess and the overprotective ways of her father. Rapunzel wholeheartedly loves Eugene, but does not share his immediate desire to get married and settle down within the castle walls. Determined to live life on her own terms, she and Cassandra embark on a secret adventure where they encounter mystical rocks that magically cause Rapunzel's long blonde hair to grow back. Impossible to break and difficult to hide, Rapunzel must learn to embrace her hair and all that it represents. In TANGLED EVER AFTER, Queen Arianna gives Rapunzel a journal with the inscription "Plus est en vous," which means "There is more in you." This message is an overarching theme for Rapunzel as she explores outside the castle walls and documents her lively adventures in the journal. Rapunzel is a free spirit and fiercely independent with a positive disposition. Her traits of strength, confidence and creativity make her a role model for young viewers who are learning to take on new responsibilities just as she is. At the heart of the story is Rapunzel's relationship with her friends and family. She is building and strengthening the relationship with her parents, whom she has just met for the first time since birth; maintaining her relationship with Eugene as she explores her new world; venturing out to unchartered territory with her new friend Cassandra; all while relying on Pascal, her fiercely loyal friend who was her only ally while isolated in the tower. Reprising their roles from the feature film are Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as Rapunzel and Eugene, respectively. Two weeks after the movie, TANGLED: THE SERIES had its official series debut on Friday, March 24 at 7:30pm ET/PT on Disney Channel, with the series' first half-hour episode. In the series debut, "What the Hair?," Rapunzel and Cassandra venture out to a wizard's cottage to try and find out what has happened to her hair.

On Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 8am ET/PT on Disney Channel, this series returned for its second season with a new title: RAPUNZEL'S TANGLED ADVENTURES. The voice cast -- including Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as the beloved Rapunzel and Eugene, as well as Eden Espinosa, James Monroe-Iglehart and Jeremy Jordan as fan-favorites Cassandra, Lance and Varian -- return. The guest voice cast for Season 2 includes Carol Kane as the mystical traveler Madame Canardist; Lil Rel Howery as a fast-talking host named Goodberry; Yvonne Strahovski as Eugene's old love interest Stalyan; Bruce Campbell as the bizarrely charming King Edmund; Britt Robertson as the whip-smart no nonsense teenager Vex; Timothy Dalton as inventor and adventurer Demanitus; Katy Mixon as the stunningly beautiful Seraphina; and Kathy Najimy as a sprightly and strange resident of the magical forest. In the one-hour season opener, "Beyond the Corona Walls," Rapunzel, finally outside the kingdom's walls, begins her long journey following the path of the black rocks. One month earlier -- on Thursday, May 31 -- Disney Channel announced it ordered a third season of the series.

Season 3 of RAPUNZEL'S TANGLED ADVENTURES premiered on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 1-2pm ET/PT on Disney Channel. In the one-hour season opener, "Rapunzel's Return," Rapunzel returns to the kingdom of Corona only to find that it has been taken over by an old enemy. Still reeling from Cassandra's betrayal, Rapunzel must use her inner strength to save Corona and its people, including her parents, King Frederic and Queen Arianna. Sticking by her side is her partner in life, Eugene; her loyal chameleon sidekick, Pascal; no-nonsense and dutiful horse, Maximus; and Eugene's best friend, Lance. Joining the voice cast in guest roles for the third season are Sean Giambrone as the teenage version of Eugene, Khary Payton as the new age thug Kai, Chris Diamantopoulos as a budding Flynn Rider, Betsy Sodaro as the memory-stealing witch Clementine, Artemis Pebdani as the werewolf hunter Creighton, Gina Torres as the rival Queen of Ingvarr and Tara Fitzgerald as Zhan Tiri, the ancient threat to Corona.
