Plot Synopsis

Based on Asa Larsson's crime novels, REBECKA MARTINSSON is a drama series that takes place in the bleak Northern Environment and revolves around Rebecka Martinsson, a lawyer from Kiruna. Despite her professional success as a top lawyer in Stockholm, Rebecka still hasn't found herself. When a dear friend from childhood suddenly passes away, Rebecka reluctantly returns to her hometown, but soon it becomes obvious that not everything is as it seems. The death of her friend becomes more and more suspicious, and Rebecka cannot tear herself away until she finds answers. Drawn into the gripping pursuit of a killer on the hunt for the next victim, Rebecka is forced to confront the terrible trauma that caused her to abandon her hometown. REBECKA MARTINSSON had its U.S. premiere on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Acorn TV released the entire eight-episode first season.

On Monday, July 27, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Acorn TV debuted the U.S. premiere of REBECKA MARTINSSON's second season by releasing all eight episodes. In Season 2, the eponymous high-powered, take-no-prisoners Stockholm attorney is back in her remote hometown of Kiruna in northern Sweden to take on new cases as a public prosecutor that prove to be both emotionally and professionally challenging for Rebecka, her colleagues, and the small town community. Meanwhile, she still has not found peace with herself as anxieties about fitting in and questions about her troubled childhood continue to plague her -- what led to her parents' untimely deaths when she was young?
