Plot Synopsis

America enthusiast Steve Watson crisscrosses the USA, showcasing classic companies, backyard innovators and festivals that are uniquely American. In the first season, Watson heads to: Kasota, MN, where he meets Tony Borglum who teaches people to drive a tank by using equipment in his own personal arsenal, which includes eight British tanks and a variety of machine guns; Dania, FL, where he checks out the JetLev, a 200-hp backpack-mounted jetpak that allows users to fly 30 feet above water or 30 feet beneath it; Pigeon Forge, TN, where he attends the world's only competitive lumberjack school open to the public, learning about log rolling, tree climbing and axe-throwing; Salt Lake City, UT, where he operates a real-life Iron Man suit -- a robotic exoskeleton "Big Arm" that gives people superhuman strength; Dover, DE, where he attends Delaware State Fire School, where he learns what it takes to be a member of the city's all-volunteer fire department; Houston, TX, where he visits the new home of DeLorean Motor Company -- the only place in the world still building and improving this classic '80s American auto; San Mateo, CA, where he controls a scrap-metal, fire-breathing dragon at Maker Faire, an annual event created by "Make" magazine to "celebrate arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset"; East Dublin, GA, where he participates in a mud belly-flop competition at the annual Summer Redneck Games; El Mirage Dry Lakebed, CA, where the Southern California Timing Association holds landspeed races; Groveland, FL, where he enrolls in the Kahana Stunt School, learning how to jump over cars; Morris, OK, where he completes the intense Warrior Dash 5K race; and many more places where American ingenuity is on display.
