Plot Synopsis

Families are torn apart because they have different visions for how to save their failing restaurants, and this reality series follows chef and restaurateur Rocco DiSpirito as he helps them choose the best option. After evaluating the eatery and listening to the plans of family members, Rocco helps them design new menus and decor for their two competing visions, which he puts to the test by dividing each establishment's space in half, with both restaurant concepts open at the same time, side-by-side, serving real customers and critics for one night. Then, based on profitability, customer reviews and his own expertise, Rocco decides which vision is most successful -- and most likely to save the restaurant -- with all family members agreeing to work together on this brand new vision. In each one-hour episode, Rocco saves a different family restaurant, including: Mia Famiglia (Long Island, NY), where he helps help feuding siblings Larry and Laura; Gyros and Goodies (Washington Township, NJ), a Greek eatery run by Terry and her future son-in-law, Neil; Maggie's Farm (Baltimore, MD), a farm-to-table restaurant opened a year earlier by Laura, her fiance Andrew, and his best friend Matthew; Against Da Grill (Staten Island, NY), run by lifelong friends Kurron and Vinny; Phamous Phil's (Collegeville, PA), a barbecue restaurant that Phil and Robin opened in their hometown; Michael's Porthole (Long Island, NY), a waterfront restaurant run by owner Michael and executive chef Mike Jr.; and many more family-owned eateries that need help with their futures.
