Plot Synopsis

At The Guild of Automotive Restorers, eccentric entrepreneur David Grainger and his team save the world's rarest classic vehicles. From re-building a one-of-a-kind turn of the century French De Dion, to recreating the 2 million dollar Bugatti Aerolithe or by getting the turbo charged engine of a 1969 Ford Road Runner GTX roaring back to life, David's crew of automobile mavericks turn rust into gold and deal with all the dents along the way. But it's not just about the cars. Like most artists, these automobile specialists have mega-personalities. While David scours the planet's most elite auctions so he and billionaire sidekick Larry Burns can bring back more four wheeled gems to fix-and-flip, shop manager Paul Taylor struggles to meet the demands of the most difficult clients and their shrinking schedules, which only fuels the drama on the shop floor. More than 13 months after its world premiere, RESTORATION GARAGE had its U.S. premiere on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, as Velocity aired back-to-back episodes.

On Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, Velocity premiered the second season of RESTORATION GARAGE. In the season opener, "Rat Rod Rally," two mechanics butt heads, a Rat Rod rises from the junkyard, and a new sheriff lays down the law. Season 3 of RESTORATION GARAGE premiered on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as Velocity debuted back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (10pm), "Delahaye Fever," a chrome malfunction dashes Dave and Larry's dreams of showing their prized Delahaye at Pebble Beach, but a custom roadster lifts their spirits and tempts their pocket books. Back at the Guild, Ken runs into trouble on a '51 Ford F1. Then, in the night's second new episode (10:30pm), "Farm Boy," while Brad and Barry investigate the vintage "anything goes" race cars of the Can Am series, Dave surprises Larry with his latest purchase, a 1978 Custom Bronco, before setting off on a mission to secure a replacement part for his 1946 Johnny Popper.

Velocity premiered the fourth season of RESTORATION GARAGE on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 9-10pm ET/PT, debuting back-to-back new episodes: "Restoration Overload" (9pm): While Janice is on a mission to restore a 1960 Land Rover that has a growing list of concerns, Ron and Greg can't figure out what's wrong with the engine of a 1965 Chevy C10 pickup truck after they updated the transmission from a 3-speed to five. "Mopar Nut" (9:30pm): David sends Thomas and Larry to Canada to check out a 1970s Superbird collection. Meanwhile James and Greg work to upgrade a tiny '68 Austin Mini Mk2 with a more powerful engine.

RESTORATION GARAGE returned for its sixth season on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on MotorTrend Network. In the season opener, "Forming a Bond," David is in California for the Pebble Beach Concours; the original 1965 James Bond DB5 breaks records at auction.

MotorTrend debuted the seventh season of RESTORATION GARAGE on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 10-11pm ET/PT, debuting back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener, "Miracle Mercury Coupe" (10pm), Larry visits and is excited by the advancement of his two projects, a 1948 Delahaye 135MS Cabriolet, and a custom Mercury being designed in California by renowned car builder Keith Dean. In the night's second episode, "Couped Up" (10:30pm), a 1977 Ford F-250 pickup truck evolves from barn find to beauty, and the owners arrive for the unveiling; Brad has a challenging time figuring out the starter and starter clutch in the unusual engine of an obscure 1966 Honda S600.
Season 9 of RESTORATION GARAGE debuted with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 10-11pm ET/PT on MotorTrend. In the season opener, "Model T Time" (10pm), Dave is excited to see a Model T roll into the Guild, and gets Ron on to fire up the engine; the team installs a new engine in a '67 Firebird.
