Plot Synopsis

RESTORED is a one-hour reality series that follows Brett Waterman as he restores historical homes in Redlands, CA, making these houses livable spaces for modern times while still highlighting their original architectural features and paying homage to the region's history. He reveals the unrealized potential hidden beneath neglect, bad renovations and unsightly additions on various home styles including Craftsman, Victorian, Spanish and mid-century modern. On Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered the pilot episode of RESTORED, "Restoring a Craftsman Bungalow," which featured Waterman's six-week effort to transform a 1923 craftsman located at 437 Grant Street in Redlands. Nine months later on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, DIY Network debuted the official series premiere of RESTORED. In the series opener, "The Yellow Victorian Farmhouse Facelift," Brett restores a Victorian Farmhouse with an odd floor plan. Major foundation issues complicate the project, but the happy homeowners end up with a beautiful and functional house they could never have imagined.

On Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT, DIY Network debuted "1906 Arts and Crafts House," the Season 2 premiere of RESTORED. Brett is called upon to restore a historically significant 1906 Arts and Crafts home. He brings it back to its original glory by reintroducing the closed-in fireplaces, re-instating the floor plan and replacing the 1980s kitchen.

Season 3 of RESTORED premiered on Wednesday, July 9, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the season opener, "1930s Colorful Spanish Colonial Farmhouse," Brett restores a 1930s two-story Spanish Colonial farmhouse in Fontana, California. He learns the rich history of the home which then guides his design plan for the house exterior, entryway, living room and kitchen. He adds vintage charm to the balcony with custom made spindles, and the living room archway comes back to life with a hand-painted stencil design.

DIY Network premiered Season 4 of RESTORED on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "1902 Queen Anne Victorian," an active family of six loves their old Queen Anne Victorian home, but the house has seen better days. Brett needs to completely re-imagine the layout, which includes moving the main bedroom to make way for a larger kitchen.

Season 5 of RESTORED premiered on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the season opener, "1912 Transitional Victorian Arts and Crafts," a 1912 Transitional Victorian house is a hybrid of styles, combining Victorian flourish with arts and crafts simplicity; Brett manages to restore the home, blend two architectural styles and find space for a new bedroom for the owners' daughter.
