Plot Synopsis

RESTORED BY THE FORDS is a half-hour reality series that follows siblings Leanne and Steve Ford, as they restore some of Pittsburgh's quirkiest homes into the coolest houses on the block. On Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered the pilot episode of RESTORED BY THE HOUSE. In the pilot, "Mid-Century Modern Meets the 21st Century," Leanne and Steve take on a dark, out-of-date mid-century modern home in the suburbs of Steel City. The wood paneling is dated, the brick tired and the kitchen is a hot mess. The Fords' challenge is to preserve the home's vintage character, while making a more modern, livable space for a family of three. Thirteen months later -- on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT -- HGTV debuted the official series premiere. In the series opener, "Building Character," a young couple needs a larger space for them and their two kids, so Steve and Leanne decide to reconfigure the floor plan to transform their small house into a home with plenty of elbowroom. But with a new bathroom, master bedroom and kitchen, will Steve and Leanne find the space in the budget to fit in all their ideas?

Season 2 of RESTORED BY THE FORDS premiered on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as HGTV debuted back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener, "House of Lucky Charms" (9pm), Leanne and Steve help transform a "Classic Craftsman" into a "Cool Craftsman" a couple can move into. While the Fords anticipated the usual historic home blockades and problems with structure, wood floors and windows, luck is on their side in the end when the design plan sings with color and light. Then, in the night's second episode, "The Silence Between the Chords" (9:30pm), Leanne and Steve are hired to convert a fun-loving and quirky art collector's cramped quarters into a fun setting for art and collectibles. The Fords install intricate wood flooring throughout, install a new back door and bring the painfully outdated galley kitchen into the modern century all while showing off the Victorian home's beautiful bones. Later this season, one reno is truly a family affair when Steve tasks Leanne with designing his first home -- an abandoned 1940s warehouse space near downtown Pittsburgh. To create a warm yet industrial-inspired space, Leanne blends her modern design style with Steve's "must have" list, including heated, polished concrete floors throughout the home. To celebrate Steve's new bachelor pad, their mom and sister show up for the reveal to be the first to see the gorgeous overhaul. In another episode, Leanne's former high school lacrosse teammate and her husband are looking to revive their drab Craftsman-style home into a bright and welcoming property. Steve and Leanne take on the challenge by exposing the brick fireplace, eliminating walls and adding French doors that turn the gloomy, choppy interior into a warm and inviting family home.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered the Season 2 finale of RESTORED BY THE FORDS. In the season ender, "Colonial Turned Chic," fun-loving and chic homeowners call on Steve and Leanne Ford to give their Colonial's main floor a contemporary makeover. Leanne wants to keep the home's European touches while adding modern flair using wallpaper, an art installation and new paint.
