Plot Synopsis

RESTORING CHARLESTON is a half-hour reality series that follows husband, father, blogger and general contractor Trent Fasnacht, who, along with his team, tear out old additions and rotten materials to recreate homes as the first builder intended. He takes on the worst of the worst -- homes that are abandoned, condemned or burned out -- and transforms them back into the beautiful homes they once were. In the premiere episode, Trent and his team tackle the renovation of a long-abandoned Queen Anne Craftsman style home built in 1895. Sitting empty for more than fifty years, the 1,850-sq. ft. home has rotten floors, cracked plaster and dilapidated wainscoting -- which are just a few of the challenges the crew must face while giving this property a 21st-century upgrade. Then, Trent tackles the front entrance and common room in a home that hasn't been lived in for over 50 years. Trent wrestles with the front door's historic hardware and attempts to expose a 100-year-old fireplace. Meanwhile, the living room goes from busted and broken to rebuilt and beautiful.
