Plot Synopsis

REV. is a half-hour, scripted comedy that follows Rev. Adam Smallbone, who was recently promoted from a sleepy rural parish to the inner-city world of St. Saviour's in Hackney, East London. As Adam struggles to be a good, modern, city vicar, his long-suffering wife, Alex, learns it's equally hard being married to one. She does her best to support him, but she's got her own career as a solicitor to worry about. At St Saviour's, anybody can come into their lives -- and they often do -- including: scheming MPs trying to educate their children on the cheap; Colin, a heavy drinking, unemployable lost soul; Mick, the local crackhead, who needs 20 pounds to visit his dying mother in Southend -- except she's died three times in the last 12 months; and many more urban sophisticates, the lost, the homeless, the poor and the insane. In addition to caring for his flock, Adam has to worry about the financial burden of running a decaying building, contend with hopeless volunteers, and engage a dwindling congregation, which counts these people as members: the Archdeacon, who is a renowned cassock-chaser; and his supposedly supportive Lay Reader Nigel, a pedantic careerist, who thinks he should be running the place himself. Hulu released the Season 3 premiere of REV. on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
