Plot Synopsis

Adapted from the Belgian TV crime thriller BEAU SEJOUR, THE RISING is a one-hour drama series that tells the story of Neve Kelly, who discovers that she is dead. Understandably, she's scared and confused by this new (non) existence, but moreover, when she realizes she has been murdered, she's furious. Determined to find her killer and get justice, she takes advantage of her new supernatural abilities to go where the police can't and investigate her own death. In doing so, she uncovers deeply buried secrets and is forced to re-examine everything about her life and the people she cared about. With a distinctive tone and visual style, THE RISING is a story about love, justice and the cost of pursuing the truth in a world that wants to keep it hidden. THE RISING made its U.S. debut on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW.

On Monday, July 17, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT, The CW aired the linear television debut of the Season 1 finale of THE RISING. In the season ender, Everything comes to a head at Keaton Hall, and Neve and Alex must fight their way back to each other as the net closes in on Neve's killer. As family loyalties are tested and old truths are uncovered, Neve is determined that justice will finally be served. Carl Tibbetts directed the episode written by Pete McTighe.
