Plot Synopsis

Ruby Gettinger is a beautiful, charming and charismatic woman from Savannah, Georgia, and she's overweight. Season 1 focuses on Ruby's journey to get healthy and lose weight -- she starts the season at nearly 500 pounds and loses over 100 pounds -- while she shares her story, including her past and present battle with obesity, her struggle to find the lost memories of her childhood and her reunion with an ex-boyfriend who broke her heart. In Season 2, Ruby weighs less than 350 pounds and the series documents Ruby's new-found life, as she can finally do many things that most people take for granted -- she'll ride a bike for the first time in decades, visit the gynecologist, shop for new clothes and even participate in a breast cancer walk.
