Plot Synopsis

Safari guides take viewers deep into the Djuma Private Game Reserve and the Arathusa Safari Lodge in South Africa, revealing live footage of Africa's wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, and buffalos. Airing as part of Nat Geo Wild's 5th annual BIG CAT WEEK, WILD SAFARI LIVE premiered on television on Saturday, November 29, 2014, as the cable channel aired the program from 9am-Noon ET each day through Sunday, December 7, 2014. Also, National Geographic Channel simulcast the adventure beginning Monday, December 1 at 9 am ET for a week. Finally, viewers were able to watch SAFARI LIVE online (http://www.wildsafarilive.com/) twice daily from 9am-Noon ET and 11pm-2am ET, beginning Sunday, November 2, 2014 through Saturday, January 31, 2015. SAFARI LIVE returned for a second run on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11pm ET/PT on Nat Geo Wild, with Hayden Turner and Pieter Pretorius hosting for a second time, as the television event broadcasts live safaris from the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, Djuma Game Reserve and Arathusa Safari Lodge in South Africa.

SAFARI LIVE returned to television on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 10pm ET on Nat Geo Wild, with guides Brent Leo-Smith and James Hendry exploring the Djuma Private Game Reserve and the Arathusa Safari Lodge in South Africa. One week later, SAFARI LIVE was scheduled for a second night on television, but viewers could also watch SAFARI LIVE online (http://www.wildsafarilive.com/) twice daily: 9am-Noon ET/6-9am PT and 10pm-1am ET/7-10pm PT.
