Plot Synopsis

Each Saturday night during college football season, ABC presents a live broadcast of one game during its primetime coverage -- most often, the network shows a single game nationwide, but, on occasion, ABC has two or three games it shows regionally with one of the games identified as being of national interest. SATURDAY NIGHT COLLEGE FOOTBALL returned for its eighth season on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 8pm ET/5pm PT, featuring No. 5-ranked Georgia Bulldogs playing at No. 8-ranked Clemson Tigers, which ends a 10-year hiatus in the schools' historic rivalry.

The 17th season of SATURDAY NIGHT COLLEGE FOOTBALL debuted on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 7:30pm ET/4:30pm PT, featuring No. 5-ranked Notre Dame at No. 2-ranked Ohio State, as they battle under the lights of The Shoe. Two of the most storied and iconic brands in the sport have met six times previously, with the Buckeyes carrying a four-game win streak since 1995. The Fighting Irish's first-year head coach Marcus Freeman returns to Ohio State where he was a standout linebacker for the Buckeyes.

Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and reporter Holly Rowe team up again to call the weekly marquee matchup. The 2022 season marks Fowler and Herbstreit's ninth year in the SNF booth.
