Plot Synopsis

Chief of Surgery Charlie Harris walks the hallways of Hope-Zion Hospital in spirit form, as his body lay comatose in a hospital bed and his fiance, surgeon Alex Reid, and her fellow doctors press on to save his life and those of their other patients. During a night on the town celebrating their love for each other, Charlie and Alex take a cab that's broadsided by another vehicle, and Charlie is badly injured. When they arrive at the hospital, Alex informs the staff that Charlie has been unconscious for 37 minutes -- but Charlie feels wide awake. As he watches his fiance direct the hospital staff who are working on his gurney-bound body, Charlie is confused whether he's dying, dreaming or really having a temporary out-of-body experience. Charlie finds himself between two worlds, with the ability to talk to dead patients while watching life unfold around him, as he hangs on to hope that he'll return to the love of his life. SAVING HOPE premiered at 9pm ET on the same night in the United States on NBC and in Canada on CTV.
