Plot Synopsis

Communities renovate their aging and broken public schools, restoring a sense of pride amongst parents, teachers and students. A team of experts leads the makeover process as members of the community roll up their sleeves and rebuild their own school. Months after the transformed school is unveiled, cameras return to discover the lasting effects of the makeover -- not just more school pride but an increase in achievement scores, too. The experts include: SWAT Commander Tom Stroup; interior designer Susie Castillo; comedian and former substitute teacher Kym Whitley; and political correspondent Jacob Soboroff. Enterprise Middle School in Compton, CA is featured in the pilot episode.
