Plot Synopsis

Written, created, and executive produced by Dan Erickson, SEVERANCE is a drama series that centers on Mark Scout, a leader of a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in work-life balance is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that forces him to confront the true nature of his work... and of himself. The first two episodes of SEVERANCE dropped on Friday, February 18, 2022, followed by new weekly installments, each Friday through April 8.

The sophomore season of SEVERANCE debuted on Friday, January 17, 2025 on Apple TV+, which released the first episode. A new installment drops weekly through March 21. Executive producer Ben Stiller directs five episodes this season. In Season 2, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.
