Plot Synopsis

Created by Xavier Ighorodje, SHANTY TOWN is a six-episode crime thriller that follows a group of courtesans, who attempt to escape the grasp of a notorious kingpin...but political corruption and blood ties make freedom a near-impossible goal. Courtesan Jackie earns enough to escape the clutches of Lagos drug kingpin and pimp, Scar. Meanwhile, Ene picks up a former associate from prison. As Jackie makes her getaway, Inem returns to Shanty Town. Scar is given a sinister political agenda, and he finds himself precariously caught between two powerful political entities. All six episodes of SHANTY TOWN dropped on Friday, January 20, 2023 on Netflix.
