Plot Synopsis

THE SHED is a half-hour reality series that follows the Orrisons, as they operate The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and compete in barbecue competitions across America. Whether the family is testing new marketing ideas, hiring help for the summer rush, catering events, or creating a custom barbecue smoker out of a Checker cab, the Orrisons find a way to enjoy a little friendly familial competition while working together. The Orrisons are: Brad Orrison, married with three young boys, who founded The Shed at age 24 with his sister and who enjoys competing on his family's competitive barbecue team; Brooke Lewis, a co-owner when she was just 19 years old, who is one of the Top 50 Business Women in Mississippi and one of the Top 10 Business Leaders Under 40; Craig 'Daddy-O' Orrison, their father and Navy veteran, who manages the development and sales of The Shed's line of barbecue sauces; and Linda Orrison, their mother and The Shed's marketing director, who serves as the President Elect for the National Barbecue Association and is a member of the executive board for Operation Barbecue Relief. The Orrisons are joined by the Shed Heads, a group of co-workers and friends: Hobson Cherry, The Shed's Senior Pit Master, who was formerly a chef at a four-star gourmet eatery for 12 years and has led The Shed Crew in making its recipes; August 'Gus' Boeckman, half of the Shed Pimps, who has been dressing up with Mr. Jim in a 1970s pimp suit every day and is in charge of the front door at The Shed; Jim Groves (aka Mr. Jim), the other half of the Shed Pimps, who is a father of 13 children and is known for making moonshine from scratch; David McQueen (aka Coal Miner), an Air Force veteran, who started as a dishwasher at The Shed but is a jack-of-all-trades wearing his now-infamous hardhat; Michael 'Big Hoss' Hosli, who joined The Shed's competitive barbecue team after Brad tasted his award-winning entry while judging a chicken competition; Hazel Turner, the widow of the former bassist for BB King, who is the Office Manager of the business; and Scotty Zink, The Shed's Kitchen Manager, who is known for his sense of humor and way of talking. On Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, Food Network aired a sneak-peek episode of this series, one day before its official series premiere on Monday, August 5 at 10pm ET/PT.
