Plot Synopsis

SIBERIAN CUT is a one-hour reality series that follows American logger Sean Vann, as he leads a crew of four Americans and three Russians, who head deep into the Siberian forest to cut wood for three months. For 17 years Sean has worked in one of the most hostile environments on the planet, logging for the Russian Forestry Industry. Batting with old machinery, negotiating deals and overcoming bitter Cold War tension, he's had enough of working for the Russians -- it's time they work for him. Sean has a three-month contract to cut wood, set up his own operation and become master of his own destiny. Not undertaking this fortune-seeking journey alone, Sean uproots four American loggers to the frozen wilds of Siberia to work alongside his own Siberian crew. If Sean can fulfill his contract with the Colonel who runs the land, he is set to make hundreds of thousands of dollars. With the hope of great reward also comes added danger, and the men must work side by side with a Russian crew, who have a very different view of the world and way of working.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 8-11pm ET/PT, Discovery Channel premiered three back-to-back new episodes of SIBERIAN CUT, nearly one year after the most recent debut episode. In the night's first episode (8pm), "Ice Guantlet," Sean Vann and his crew of loggers face eviction from the Siberian forest by their Russian timber boss. In order to up production, Sean risks his life to bring a Soviet-era cutting machine across an ice bridge on the frozen Yenisei River. Then, in the second episode (9pm), "Belly Up," Sean and his crew finally have their sights set on half a million dollars' worth of timber, but the first signs of spring threaten to derail their plans. In the night's final episode (10pm), "Road from Hell," Sean and his crew finish the test cut, but Sean brings some devastating news instead of cold hard cash.
