Plot Synopsis

SISTERHOOD OF HIP HOP is a reality series that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the hip-hop music business and what happens when women want to change the game by rooting for each other instead of against each other. Despite the sacrifices they make in their personal lives, these femcees -- Bia, Brianna Perry, Diamond, Nyemiah Supreme and Siya -- are determined to succeed and overcome the barriers and challenges that come with a rise to stardom, but not at the cost of the sisterhood they have built. Discovered and mentored by the biggest names in hip hop, these female artists chase their dreams in a music genre traditionally dominated by men. The sisterhood includes: Bia, a breaking new artist from Miami, who sacrificed everything to follow her dreams and better learn her craft from Famlay and Pharrell; Brianna Perry, who is restoring innocence to the female rap game, as she refuses to compromise the femininity and the edge she needs to survive in today's hip hop world; Diamond, whose former crew, Crime Mob, had a track that went platinum when she was just 14 and who struck out on her own in 2007, recently signing with Polo Grounds Music, which has a roster of Pitbull, A$AP Rocky, and more; Nyemiah Supreme, a native of Jamaica, Queens, who began her career as a back-up dancer in the shadows of such well-known acts as Chris Brown and Lil Mama; and Siya, raised in Bed-Stuy, who overcame many challenges early on including a drug-addicted mother and incarcerated father, as well as her own run-ins with the law. This eight-episode series also includes guest appearances by hip-hop icons, mentors and friends such as Eve, Lil Jon, Travie McCoy, Rick Ross, Tank, and Irv Gotti, among others. On Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:30pm ET/PT, Oxygen aired a half-hour preview special, three weeks before the series premiere on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT. SISTERHOOD OF HIP HOP returned for its second season on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on Oxygen. All roads lead to Los Angeles as these five up-and-coming artists continue to push their careers forward. Temptation arises for Siya when T-Pain shows interest in signing her, leaving her to decide whether to jump ship or stay loyal to Tank. Meanwhile, Diamond is happy and in love with a new man, but with her manager incarcerated, she struggles trusting anyone else at her label. On the hunt for a record deal, Nyemiah Supreme decides to leave her new romance with artist Mack Wilds back in New York and take her music in a deeper, more emotional direction, much to her manager's disapproval. Brianna is at a standstill when her management refuses to write any more checks until she comes up with a hit so she has to hustle on a budget. Bia brings her boyfriend Magic along for her exciting new beginning with RCA Records, but when she reaches out to Pusha T and other music masterminds for advice on her new single, she doesn't get the answer she is looking for. Executive Producer T.I. appears this season along with hip hop icons, mentors and friends T-Pain, Tank, Irv Gotti, Adrienne Bailon, Da Brat, Travie McCoy, Funkmaster Flex and more. Season 3 of SISTERHOOD OF HIP HOP premiered on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on Oxygen, with returning veterans Siya, Brianna Perry and Diamond, who welcome new femcees on the block, Audra the Rapper and Lee Mazin. In order to deal with the ups and downs that come with the rap game, the ladies receive guidance from guest stars like hip hop legends MC Lyte, Irv Gotti, Tank, Trina, YoYo, Jazze Pha and more, providing support, advice, and when necessary, tough love. Although some things may have changed, the hustle to succeed remains the same for these five fierce female artists. In this season, after being featured on Tank's new smash hit, #BDAY, Siya is eager to put out a new record of her own, but legal and relationship issues threaten to jeopardize her career. Meanwhile, Brianna is in the hot seat when her fans and "mom-ager," Kiki, demand new music, which creates some serious pressure for the emcee. While Diamond is struggling with her label and her man, she decides to take control by launching a new fashion line, hoping it will generate the money needed for more freedom in her personal and professional life. Philadelphia native and local rap sensation, Lee Mazin, is driven to make it onto the national stage, but she has to decide if it's worth leaving her family and her home. And struggling for more independence, Audra the Rapper is facing a constant battle between her music and a management team with whom she does not see eye-to-eye. As the emcees work to overcome these personal struggles and reach the top, the strength of the sisterhood is put to the ultimate test when MC Lyte offers the ladies an opportunity to compete against each other for a verse on her highly-anticipated new track.
