Plot Synopsis

Created by series showrunner Julie Puckrin, SKYMED is a one-hour medical drama series that follows the triumphs, heartbreaks and tribulations of budding nurses and pilots flying air ambulances in remote Northern Canada. Weaving together intense character journeys with high-stakes medical rescues, a diverse cast of young medical responders must rely on each other for survival at 20,000 feet in the air. The character of Flight Nurse Hayley Roberts is "loosely based on my sister, a flight nurse in the remote north whose experiences inspired the series," according to Puckrin. All nine episodes of SKYMED's first season dropped on Sunday, July 10, 2022 on Paramount+.

Three months after debuting on CBC in Canada, SKYMED returned for its second season in the United States on Thursday, January 11, 2024 on Paramount+, which released all nine episodes of the new season. In the season opener, "Return to Base," SkyMed expands its medevac service into new territory, throwing everyone into disarray as familiar faces return -- and intriguing new flight crew arrive.
