Plot Synopsis

In each half-hour episode of SMART HOME NATION, host Tanya Memme takes viewers on tours of two smart homes to discover how some of the world's best innovators bring convenience, security, efficiency, and health to our everyday lives. The series also uses CGI to see inside walls, under floors and inside gadgets to reveal the hidden technology that makes these homes smart. SMART HOME NATION premiered on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 10-11pm ET/PT on FYI, with back-to-back episodes:

"A.I. Butler; Security Dome Home" (10pm): Tanya Memme explores an insanely beautiful Los Angeles smart home that has brough voice control to all new levels. The home is owned by the inventor of Josh a.i., the newest in voice-controlled home systems. It's like Siri or Alexa on steroids and it's coming soon to a smart home near you. Next, Tanya tours a Zen-like luxury home that has super-sized its home security. A blast-proof wall protects the main floor from any explosion, and a security dome matrix of cameras, sensors and laser trip wires make this home as impregnable as Fort Knox.

"Wellness by the Seas; Historic Smart Home" (10:30pm): Tanya tours a spectacular seaside mansion outside LA where air, water, light and sound are all monitored by a high-tech system that aims to maximize human health. Tanya discovers that this home, which is built into the side of a cliff, has an integrated wellness technology improves everything from sleep to mood. Next, Tanya explores an the latest in smart technology that happens to reside in a house built nearly 200 years ago! This 1835 Georgian-style historic home in Toronto is filled with smart surprises. The biggest one: the entire house had to be lifted to put a state-of-the-art home theater underneath its two-century-old floorboards.
