Plot Synopsis
Three blue-collar geniuses -- Guy Messenger, Terry Myers, and Randy Rice -- design challenges, as they try to outwit each other and prove who is the SMARTEST GUY IN THE ROOM. The tasks may seem simple, but they each come with an ingenious hands-on twist that separates the geniuses from the masterminds. In each half-hour episode, one of the guys creates two challenges for the other geniuses to engage in a battle of wits. Challenges include: a mission to stack 100 lbs. on an egg without cracking it; an obstacle course for their memory; a helium-fueled race where it pays to be the slowest across the finish line; a super-sized packing challenge; a gauntlet of pattern puzzles; a big word challenge; a bridge build-off; a paper airplane challenge; a density challenge; a self-propelling boat using simple materials; and many more head-to-head challenges. Guy, age 54, joined Mensa at the age of 18 in order to qualify for better health insurance. He speaks five languages (with plans to learn a few more) and works as a doorman in Saint Paul, MN, where he enjoys wearing a top hat and speaking with a fake British accent. Tattoo artist Terry, 44, excels at microbiology, math and science. He is a grandfather who lives in Visalia, CA with his family. Randy Rice, 30, is also a Mensa member who enjoys logic and numbers. He works as a teacher's aid at a local school in Port Washington, NY and is also a professional miniature golfer, ranked #23 in the country.
