Plot Synopsis

SNAPPED: BEHIND BARS is a series of specials that feature exclusive jailhouse interviews with criminals that previously appeared on SNAPPED.

On Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 6-8pm ET/PT, Oxygen premiered the first SNAPPED: BEHIND BARS special, with the infamous case of Sheila Davalloo. The special breaks down how Sheila stopped at nothing to continue down a path of deceit, and for the first time Sheila opens up and tells her side of the story. New details are uncovered about Sheila's attempted murder of her husband, extramarital affair that turned for the worst and new twists and turns in her case. Interviews with Crime Writer and Journalist, M. William Phelps who wrote the book, Obsessed based on the life of Davalloo and Forensic Psychologist, Katherine Ramsland paint a vivid picture of Sheila's turbulent lifestyle and her victims.

More than 14 months later -- on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 6-7pm ET/PT -- Oxygen debuted the second installment of SNAPPED: BEHIND BARS, which focused on the Sabrina Zunich case. Zunich was just a teenager when she killed her foster mother, but now she tells all in a new interview from prison. The special revisits the case, while Zunich tells how she was groomed by Kevin Knoefel into becoming his lover and then the murderer of his wife. During this jailhouse interview, Zunich also reveals she was diagnosed with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder when she was 4 years old, and that she has suffered from oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. At age 16, Zunich was placed with Kevin and Lisa Knoefel and moved into their home in Willoughby Hills, OH. Despite good grades in school, Zunich began acting out at home, fighting with Lisa while turning to Kevin for help. Her relationship with her foster father became sexual in the spring of 2012, and by fall 2012 Zunich was asking others if they knew anyone that would killer her foster mom. Within a month, Zunich's step-sister Megan called the cops because Zunich was stabbing their mother at least 178 times in the head, neck, torso, and extremities.
