Plot Synopsis

This intense drama explores the notorious outlaw motorcycle club, The Sons of Anarchy, and its desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple life in the town of Charming, California remains exactly that: simply charming. The club must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers, rival gangs and overzealous law officers. Behind the club's familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive repair shop is a ruthless and thriving illegal-arms business. For Season 5, new cast members included: Jimmy Smits as Neron 'Nero' Padilla, a Latino gang leader; Harold Perrineau as villain Damon Pope; and Chuck Zito as the nomadic Frankie Diamonds. Season 6 debuted on FX on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT with a 90-minute season opener. Having framed Clay for the murder of Damon Pope, Season 6 begins with Jax's leadership uncontested, but his family life suffering from his single-minded pursuit of John Teller's vision. Jax must find a way to keep Tara from going to prison for conspiracy to commit murder while rebuilding his club and breaking from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friend's death. By the end of Season 6, Jax has finally solidified his leadership of Sons of Anarchy by murdering his stepfather Clay for past sins. The season ended with his mother Gemma committing an unpardonable sin by brutally murders his wife, Dr. Tara Knowles, thinking she's protecting the club. Meanwhile, Juice Ortiz kills Sheriff Eli Roosevelt to protect Gemma. SONS OF ANARCHY returned for its seventh and final season on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on FX with a special 105-minute episode. Season 7 begins ten days after the end of the previous season with Jax in jail on a parole violation, grappling with the loss of the woman he loved. With the club's full support, he sets in motion the brutal machinations that will lead to complete and merciless retribution. Immediately following the season premiere, the live post-show "Anarchy Afterword" aired in its entirety on FX with guests Kurt Sutter, Katey Sagal, Charlie Hunnam. Marilyn Manson has been cast in a recurring role in SOA's seventh season as Ron Tully, a white supremacist prison shot-caller who Jax uses to expand his power base. Annabeth Gish will portray Dep. Sheriff Althea Jarry, starting in the second episode. Courtney Love will portray Ms. Harrison, the teacher of Abel, in a recurring role from the fourth episode onward.
