Plot Synopsis

Organized by Special Olympics, THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD SUMMER GAMES are an international sporting competition for adult and child athletes with intellectual disabilities, who are matched against each other based on ability and age. Held every two years for the first three events (1968, 1970 & 1972), THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD SUMMER GAMES have been held every four years since 1975.

On Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 9pm-Midnight ET/6-9pm PT, ESPN broadcast live coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games LA2015, with Robin Roberts, Lindsey Czarniak and Kevin Negandhi covering the three-hour event, capturing the pageantry of the multiple performances, torch lighting and Parade of Athletes at the Los Angeles Coliseum, as well as interviews, features and reports from Los Angeles.
