Plot Synopsis

Martin Scorsese, Jane Goodall and Pope Francis join other inspiring women and men over 70 -- including creators, activists and role models -- to share poignant life lessons, hard-won wisdom, and pivotal choices from their remarkable journeys. Their stories are all told by filmmakers under 30 from the same country. This series is inspired by the 2018 book "Sharing the Wisdom of Time" by Pope Francis, who also provides commentary in each episode. All four episodes of STORIES OF A GENERATION - WITH POPE FRANCIS dropped on Christmas Day 2021 (Saturday, December 25):

"Love": Martin Scorsese, Jane Goodall and others reflect on the power of love and the profound connections that have shaped their journeys.

"Dream": What does it mean to dream? A woman revisiting her ancestors' past, an 88-year-old skydiver and a pioneer in climate science share their perspectives.

"Struggle": Perseverance helps a South African photographer, a surfing pioneer and the mother of a freedom fighter realize their life purpose.

"Work": A 90-year-old shoemaker in Vietnam, a Nigerian artist and a celebrated chef in Jerusalem help to show the dignity and rewards of hard work.
