Plot Synopsis

Based on George Pendle's book of the same name, which was inspired by the real-life story of Jack Parsons, STRANGE ANGEL is a drama series that explores the dramatic intersection between genius and madness, science and science fiction. Jack Parsons, a brilliant and ambitious blue-collar worker in 1930s Los Angeles, works as a janitor at a chemical factory but dreams of building rockets that will take mankind to the moon. As he helps pioneer the unknown discipline of rocket science by day, by night, Parsons is pulled into a new occult religion created by Aleister Crowley, performing sex magick rituals to bend the world to his will and make his fantastical dreams a reality. CBS All Access released the first episode of STRANGE ANGEL on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. In the series opener, "Augurs of Spring," the pressures of his double life are further complicated when Jack and his wife Susan are confronted by a mysterious new neighbor, Ernest Donovan, who appears to be leading a double life of his own.
On Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, CBS All Access released "The Sacrificial Dance," the season finale of STRANGE ANGEL. When Jack receives a letter from Aleister Crowley, inviting him to ascend to the next degree, the Parsons must decide if Thelema is what they both want for their future. After uncovering the truth about Virgil during her purge sessions, Susan is forced to deal with the chilling revelation back in the real world. Richard and Jack finally find common ground, rallying the Suicide Club for a dangerous final demonstration to the military. For the demo, Jack has all he needs except for one crucial element: Ernest.
