Plot Synopsis
Set in 1980s Indiana, STRANGER THINGS is a one-hour drama series that follows friends, family and local police as they search for answers after a young boy vanishes into thin air. Along the way, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. The town's residents include: Joyce, a working class single mother still reeling from the disappearance of her son, Will, a small and sensitive boy who doesn't fit into the 1980's definition of normal; Jonathan, Will's older teenage brother; the town's police of chief; Mike, a bullied 12-year-old who becomes an unlikely hero in the quest to save his best friend; Nancy, Mike's teenage older sister; Dustin, a 12-year-old who marches to the beat of his own drum and whose sense of humor helps defuse tense situations in the series; Lucas, an opinionated friend of Mike's, who possesses a fierceness and courage the other boys lack; and other residents of this small town. Netflix premiered the eight-episode first season on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.
The nine-episode second season of STRANGER THINGS premiered on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire new season. It's been nearly a year since Will's strange disappearance, but life's hardly back to normal in Hawkins. Not even close. Season 2 opens with the town prepping for Halloween, as a high-scoring rival shakes things up at the arcade and a skeptical Hopper inspects a field of rotting pumpkins. After Will sees something terrible on trick-or-treat night, Mike wonders whether Eleven's still out there. Nancy wrestles with the truth about Barb. Then, Dustin adopts a strange new pet, and Eleven grows increasingly impatient. A well-meaning Bob urges Will to stand up to his fears.

Netflix released the entire eight-episode third season of STRANGER THINGS on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. It's 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer's heating up. School's out, there's a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group's dynamic, and they'll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town's threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they'll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.
