Plot Synopsis

THE STYLE AWARDS honor fashion icons and stylists with Style Icon (Male and Female) of the Year, Celebrity Stylist of the Year and Designer of the Year, among other awards. The 9th annual awards in 2012 were held at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Wednesday, September 5, and for the first time ever, were broadcast in primetime on Style on Friday, September 14 at 8pm ET/PT. The 2012 Style Awards winners and presenters follow: "Designer of the Year" awarded to Carolina Herrera, presented by Katie Holmes; "Breakthrough Designer of the Year" awarded to Prabal Gurung, presented by Elettra Wiedemann; "Celebrity Stylist of the Year" awarded to Cristina Ehrlich, presented by Amy Adams; "One to Watch (Female)" awarded to Katharine McPhee, presented by Joe Zee; "One to Watch (Male)" awarded to Ed Westwick, presented by Simon Spurr; "Model of the Year" awarded to Joan Smalls, presented by Iman; "Most Stylish Athlete" awarded to Henrik Lundqvist, presented by Jeff Gordon; "Hair Stylist of the Year" awarded to Andy Lecompte, presented by Nicole Richie; "Makeup Artist of the Year" awarded to Virginia Young, presented by Elaine Irwin; "TV Costume Designer of the Year" awarded to Jenn Rogien, presented by Allison Williams; "Film Costume Designer of the Year" awarded to Sandy Powell, presented by Hal Rubenstein; "Accessories Designer of the Year" awarded to Reed Krakoff, presented by Rachel Taylor.
