Plot Synopsis

ACE OF CAKES' Duff Goldman travels across America to find the country's most unique and creative desserts, and meets the people behind those pastries. Goldman travels to sweet shops in: Los Angeles (chilled bread pudding at the Venice boardwalk; a vertically challenged cookie on the city's East side; radical take on shaved ice in bustling K-Town); Dallas (coconut pie made by an old-timer at a legendary diner; tableside S'mores at an updated roadhouse; peppermint red velvet whoopee pie); New Orleans (maple glaze bacon donut in a shop run by New Orleans cops; fluffy sno ballz on the first-ever shaved-ice machine at Hanson's Sno Bliz; bananas foster in the historic French Quarter); Boston (sfogliatella at Modern Pastry; lemon ginger mousse at a hip Asian diner; Boston cream fried dough at a Boston Common foodcart); Chicago (apple strudel at the legendary Berghoff Restaurant; Hoosier Mama Pies; the radical Motherloaf Cupcake); and Philadelphia (Hot Chocolate Volcano at the Rim Cafe; rice pudding at the Brown Betty Dessert Boutique; Milk-and-Honey Macarons at the Sugar Philly food truck).
