Plot Synopsis

Harvey Specter, one of Manhattan's top corporate lawyers, and Mike Ross, a college dropout who is a legal prodigy with a photographic memory, work together to serve justice at the Manhattan law firm of Pearson Hardman. Specter wanted to recruit a new hotshot junior associate from Harvard Law; instead he hired Ross, who has the book smarts of a Harvard grad but without the degree. Ross also has the street smarts of a hustler since he spent his days going from one scam to another, and his past experiences -- as well as his old group of friends -- come in handy. Once Ross convinces Specter to hire him and give him the chance he never had, these unconventional thinkers must continue the charade that Ross is a lawyer. At Pearson Hardman, they work with: Louis Litt, Harvey's main rival at the firm; Jessica Pearson, their no-nonsense boss; Rachel Zane, the smart and sexy paralegal, who catches Mike's eye; and Donna Paulsen, the loyal woman running Harvey's office, who knows everyone and everything that happens at Pearson Hardman. At the end of Season 1, Mike's ex-best friend set out to expose him to Jessica, and his love life became very complicated after he crossed the line with Rachel, his only friend in the office.

During the first part of Season 2, Pearson Hardman survived its own internal war, resulting in Daniel Hardman being ousted. That battle further empowered Harvey and Jessica, but they had to smooth over strife within the firm. Meanwhile, Mike's grandmother died just as he was ready to start taking care of her as a thank-you for all she had done for him. Plus, he slept with childhood friend Tess after his grandmother's funeral, angering Rachel -- and possibly causing him to lose any chance he may have had with her. The, with the firm under siege from Hardman, Jessica evaluated a merger, and Harvey voiced his vision for the firm's future, which clashed with Jessica's view.

Season 3 opened with the merger completed, and Jessica's new partnership with Darby being tested when he assigned Harvey a high-profile client who faced the loss of her company if Harvey couldn't prove her innocence. Plus, Mike worked to reconcile with Harvey and managed the fallout from his revelation to Rachel. Season 3 continued on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, when SUITS returned with six new episodes. Picking up in the wake of an emotional and shattering murder trial, Harvey and Jessica addressed the firm's future, while Louis threatened to expose the truth about Mike. Plus, these episodes featured guest star appearances by Olympian Michael Phelps (playing himself as a client of Pearson Specter) and Gabriel Macht's famous father, Stephen Macht (playing Professor Gerard, a notoriously rigid Harvard professor with very high standards).

SUITS returned for its fourth season on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on USA Network. After Mike left Pearson Specter to be an investment banker on Wall Street, it's a new world order with a major change in the dynamics at the firm, while Pearson Spector welcomes a new colleague, Jeff Malone, a former SEC prosecutor and financial expert. As Mike and Harvey adjust to their new paradigm, their attorney-client relationship may be short-lived. Meanwhile, Pearson Specter discovers that disgraced DA Eric Woodall may be pursuing a vendetta against Harvey and the firm. Then, Harvey and Mike find themselves on opposite sides of a takeover battle that threatens to turn into a knockdown, drag-out fight -- a fight complicated by Rachel's relationship with Mike. It's enough of an issue that Pearson Specter's client, Logan Sanders, pushes Harvey to prove his relationship with Mike won't hinder him from doing what it takes to win their takeover battle of a DVD distribution company founded by Walter Gillis. Meanwhile, Louis attempts to mend his relationship with Malone, but their ensuing bonding leads to some misunderstandings. On Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on USA Network, SUITS returned for its mid-season premiere, picking up from its cliffhanger, with Louis gaining the leverage needed to finally achieve his ultimate goal -- becoming a partner of the firm. Meanwhile, the team at Pearson Specter is dealing with the major fallout of Louis Litt learning Mike's secret. With six episodes remaining, Harvey and Jessica are faced with critical changes at the firm and defending one of their own. Guest appearances this season include Billy Miller and Tricia Helfer as well as the return of Stephen Macht, Wendell Pierce, Neal McDonough, Eric Roberts and Zeljko Ivanek.

Season 5 of SUITS premiered on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT. In the fifth season premiere, Pearson Specter Litt has scored a hard-fought victory, but the fight has left the firm shaken. Although she avoided jail time, Donna has left Harvey, after more than a decade of working together. She is now working for his long-time rival Louis, who believes she's certain to return to Harvey. And while Jessica readjusts to being single, Mike and Rachel are giddy after his marriage proposal. The couple must decide how and when to share their big news, but their excitement about their future together will take a back seat to Harvey and Mike's latest case. And an up-and-coming partner makes his presence known to Jessica, confronting her about whether Harvey's way of doing business is beneficial to the firm. Later in Season 5, TNT NBA Analyst Charles Barkley makes a cameo appearance as a long-time client of Pearson Specter Litt who surfaces in an effort to help Harvey make amends with a fellow partner at the firm. On July 1, 2015, USA Network announced that it picked up SUITS for a 16-episode sixth season. The fifth season of SUITS finished its run with six new episodes, starting on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on USA Network. In the wake of his arrest for conspiracy to commit fraud, Mike finds himself at the center of an investigation -- led by a ruthless government prosecutor, Assistant US Attorney Anita Gibbs (new recurring guest star Leslie Hope) -- that threatens to bring down the whole firm. Harvey, having resigned from the firm in order to protect it, must tred lightly if he's going to help Mike, or incur the wrath of Charles Forstman. Together with Jessica and Louis, Harvey must figure out how to build a defense for Mike, knowing full well that he's guilty of the crime for which he stands accused. Meanwhile, Rachel must come to terms with the fact that her fiance, and everyone she's close to, could soon be in prison as Donna finds herself at a crossroad.

SUITS returned for its sixth season on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on USA Network. Season 6 begins immediately following the events of the shocking Season 5 cliffhanger that left Mike behind bars. After signing a plea deal to spare his colleagues at Pearson Specter Litt, Mike is confronted with the harsh realities of prison life as he starts his two-year sentence. Meanwhile, the once bustling Pearson Specter Litt offices are a ghost town -- the partners have defected, leaving Harvey, Jessica, Louis, Donna and Rachel to pick up the pieces. But the firm's troubles are far from over and they have to deal with the fallout from Mike's crime before they can even begin to rebuild. The back half of Season 6 premiered on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on USA Network. The sixth season returns with six new episodes, picking up immediately after the midseason cliffhanger that left Pearson Specter Litt in the hands of managing partners Harvey Specter and Louis Litt. The pair is forced to put aside their professional ambitions and personal animosities in an effort to come together to keep their struggling firm afloat after the departure of Jessica Pearson. Now more than ever, they will rely on the wit and intuition of Donna Paulsen and Rachel Zane, their most trusted advisors, to keep them on track. Finally reunited with Rachel, Mike Ross re-adjusts to life outside of prison and navigates the reality that he is no longer a lawyer. Meanwhile, love is in the air following Louis' proposal to his pregnant girlfriend, Tara.

Season 7 of SUITS premiered on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on USA Network. Now that Mike is officially recognized as a lawyer and has accepted Harvey's offer to return to the firm, the team is back together again at Pearson Specter Litt -- each dealing with their own struggles as they adjust to a new world order without Jessica. The seventh season features Dule Hill, who has signed on for a season-long arc on the series as Alex Williams, a senior partner at rival law firm Bratton Gould, where he maintains an enviable roster of clients; and the series' 100th episode, which debuts August 30. In the season opener, "Skin in the Game," Mike returns to Pearson Specter Litt as Harvey takes the reins. Louis manages the new class of associates, while Donna and Rachel find their places in the new world order. The back half of SUITS' Season 7 premiered on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on USA Network, culminating in a two-hour season finale on Wednesday, April 25 -- an arc in which SUITS says goodbye to characters Mike Ross and Rachel Zane. When the back half of Season 7 returns, Harvey must deal with the aftermath of Jessica losing her license, while trying to process how the kiss with Donna will affect his relationship with Paula. Mike tries to juggle his commitment to the firm, his passion for pro bono work, and his engagement to Rachel. All the while, Louis struggles with right and wrong as his torrid affair with Sheila deepens. In the mid-season premiere, "Hard Truths," Harvey and Louis fight to protect the future of the firm from its past. Alex worries Mike's instincts could risk a client relationship. Donna and Harvey delve into the aftermath of their kiss.

Season 8 of SUITS premiered on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on USA Network, with Amanda Schull being promoted to a series regular and Katherine Heigl joining the cast as attorney Samantha Wheeler. Donna helps her see beyond the numbers. On Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, SUITS returns for the final six episodes of Season 8. In the first part of the season, with Robert Zane as new managing partner of the firm, Harvey, Louis, and Donna are forced to navigate the shaken dynamic while still standing their ground. Katrina works hard to prove herself and is eventually promoted to senior partner, and Alex and Samantha go head-to-head for name partner. Their battle just about tears the firm apart as Harvey and Robert pick sides. In a last-ditch effort to unify the team, Louis takes over as managing partner at Donna's suggestion, and both Alex and Samantha get their name on the wall.

The ninth and final season of SUITS premiered on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on USA Network.
