Plot Synopsis

Created by Julia Pott, SUMMER CAMP ISLAND is a quarter-hour animated series that follows best friends Oscar and Hedgehog at an incredible, magical sleepaway camp where things aren't quite what they seem to be. On Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 6-11am, Cartoon Network the series, showing 20 episodes back to back, with a simulcast on Boomerang. Plus, Beoomerang aired the episodes in rotation for 48 hours, through Monday, July 9 at 6am. The SUMMER CAMP ISLAND pilot originally debuted at SXSW Festival on March 17, 2016 and then on the CN App nearly 19 months later on December 2, 2017.

SUMMER CAMP ISLAND returned for the second half of its 40-episode first season on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from Noon-1pm ET/PT on Comedy Central, with four new back-to-back quarter-hour episodes. The magical journey picks up to follow best friends Oscar and Hedgehog as they learn to explore the unknown while embarking on more mystical adventures. In the second season, scheduled for later in the year, magical mysteries reveal themselves for Oscar and Hedgehog to investigate. On their journey, they uncover new worlds within the island where they meet elves, sasquatches, giants, monsters under the bed, aliens, yetis, and of course, teenage witches.

The second season of SUMMER CAMP ISLAND premiered on Thursday, June 18, 2020 on HBO Max. Best friends Oscar and Hedgehog as they learn that their camp is on a magical island, and that instead of making potholders-they'll be making friends with monsters and yetis. The counselors? Well, they're witches. And the cabins? Those were built by aliens. The moon? OK, it is the same 'ole moon, but here, he talks. As Oscar and Hedgehog spend their summer days having strange encounters with mystical creatures, they begin to discover their own magical potentials.

Season 3 of SUMMER CAMP ISLAND debuted on HBO Max over a three week period, with a batch of themed episodes being released each Thursday: Witches (December 10), Aliens (December 17) and Yetis (December 24). Returning guest stars this season include Whoopi Goldberg, Bobby Moynihan, Fortune Feimster, Stephen Root and Elijah Wood with new characters voiced by Frances Conroy, Keith David, Jo Firestone, Aparna Nancherla and Melissa Villasenor. Season 3 follows best friends Oscar and Hedgehog as they have strange encounters with mystical creatures, discovering their own magical potential along the way. As Oscar and Hedgehog dive deeper into the magical community, they hear fables of friendships and discover how Susie and the witches first came to the island. They also travel far beyond their cabins for a sacred ceremony at the Yeti meadow and some house sitting for Puddle and the King. From midsummer snow days to sleepovers in the witch school, the unpredictable magical world continues to keep campers and creatures alike on the edge of their brooms!
SUMMER CAMP ISLAND returned for its fourth season, as the entire 13-episode new season dropped on Thursday, June 17, 2021 on HBO Max. Season 4 features new powers, new friends, and many more exciting magical adventures where the fun never stops.
